Mermaid Makeup for Halloween

Hey everyone, hope you’ve had a great Halloween weekend! This year I decided to push the boat out and do something other than the easy cat makeup I do every year. I’d seen a few pictures of the kind of thing I wanted to do on the internet, and after I found all my Aromaleigh and Archetype samples recently I decided to try the mermaid look.

Now, I’m not going to beat around the bush – in order to achieve the scaly look, you need to put a pair of fishnet tights over your head. I’ll be honest, it probably wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve been in my life, but sometimes you just have to make sacrifices. My advice for this part of the application would be to make sure no one witnesses it.

Here are the colours I used to do this look.

Unfortunately, Archetype aren’t in business anymore, which is such a shame as they had some amazing colours! Aromaleigh are still around, but all the shades I used are from previous collections. This reminds me, I need to make another order, I haven’t shopped with them in years and I’ve just been on their website to look at eyeshadow porn and decided I need everything.

Anyway, here is the finished product:

I’m really happy with it! I spent ages trying to get the highlight and contour right, and I’m so pleased with how it turned out. Then I used the same colours on my eyes to pull the whole look together, and added some blue hair tinsel for extra effect.

Thanks for reading, leave me a comment with your Halloween looks!
